Red Potato Festival
A village event held on the last weekend of August, genuine and of high quality, where it is possible to attend conferences on the potato, exhibitions, entertainment shows, craft markets, but also guided excursions, tastings and food and wine events with sommeliers and producers. The treasure of Borgo Pace is to be found underground: it is the red potato of Sompiano, a tuber with a thousand uses in the kitchen that is distinguished by its red skin. The Red Potato is a native variety, cultivated and protected by an association of local farmers. You must try the crostolo di Sompiano, a calzone filled with boiled potatoes, sausages and mozzarella, cooked strictly on the grill with local charcoal. In the local culture there is no lack of regional or provincial dishes, such as vincisgrassi, or game or various dishes made with quality meats.
