Medieval Tower

A symbol of the town, the tower is the most representative urban element of the Municipality. Even if we cannot establish with certainty the origin of the tower, it appears to be a single medieval building, perhaps resting on more archaic foundations, presumably Roman. The massive stone shaft and the small slits fully recall medieval canons, except for the top which undoubtedly was the subject of renovations, most likely carried out in the 15th century under Federico da Montefeltro. The brick crowning with long corbels, without a covering, appears to have been maintained until the 17th century as can be seen in some paintings with the typical “Ghibelline” battlements still visible.
